We will have the final test this week:
Lunes (Monday):vocabulary -grammar
Martes (Tuesday): writing and reading
You need to have your own "portafolio". No sharing notes at all.
Follow instructions during the test: No talking at all / Be seated at all times / Raise your hand in you have any question during the test/ No dictionaries are allowed. / Please bring your portfolio to class, no pass to your locker to get it.
BREAKING THESE RULES WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCE OF GETTING "0" ON YOUR TEST.
Miercoles (Wednesdays) Classwork : Interrogative words / Sixth period: New vocabulary for new chapter
Jueves (Thursday) PORFOLIO DAY 1
Viernes (Friday) PORTFOLIO DAY 2
Note: While teacher is checking "portafolio" with each one of the students, the rest will be watching a movie :
"Selena" : Students will have a w/sheet to respond about the film. REMEMBER: Portafolios need to be completed to get 10 points for each assignment. All the assigments have been corrected on the board so no excuse of having mistakes.

Note: Students: you had the opportunity to make up your quiz about verbs ser and ir last week. You had more than a week to do so. Only 4 students out of 15 came to make up the quiz.
I am giving you also the opportunity to correct and finish the letter we answered to Roberto to pull your grade up. It is up to you. I am expecting these letters during this week.

We will be working on the oral presentation: Un estudiante nuevo (a new student)You can use notes in practice, no during the role-play. You need to provide a copy of your conversation to your teacher before the presentation. This needs to be typed. Follow rubric as well. We have been doing this activity for the past two days (Thursday and Friday). Some of you have shown this script to me so I could do some corrections.
We will also be working on interrogative words like:
Que - What / cuando - when / por que - why...ect..
We will start working on vocabulary: cognates and false cognates
Tarea: (Hw)
Lunes :Monday: If you haven't done your oral presentation so the homework will be: learn your part or role.
Martes: Tuesday: find the meaning of these words and tell if they are cognates:
a. exit - exito
b. actually - actualmente
c. embarrassed-embarazada
d. assist - asistir
e. carpet - carpteta
Miercoles: Wednesday: Define: false cognates:
What are false cognates?
Jueves :Thursday: go online http://www.spanish.bz/false-cognates.htm or another website and find 5 more examples of false cognates.
Viernes: Friday: No hay tarea (No homework)

We will continue working on descriptions (adjectives). We will be starting a new topic: articles: definite (the) and indefinite (a / an) in Spanish.
Lunes: Monday: No hay tarea (No hw)
Martes: Tuesday: Find 10 words (nouns) and write the right definite article (el / la ). Write the meaning in English.
Miercoles: Wednesday: Use the same 10 words (previous homework) and write the right indefinite article (un - una). Write the meaning in English.
Jueves: Change the words you use for Tuesday and Wednesday homework and change to plural, using the right definite article (los - las) and the indefinite artice (unos - unas).
Viernes: Friday: No hay tarea (no homework)
