Thanksgiving is just two weeks away and we are ready to express thankfulness, gratitude and appreciation to God, family and friends. "GRACIAS POR LA FAMILIA, POR LOS AMIGOS Y  POR NUESTRAS MASCOTAS"

***Deficiencies went out on last week so please make sure you ask your child if they have one, get it signed, and have it returned to on Monday.

SOME ACTIVITIES FOR THIS WEEK

1. MI PRIMER LIBRO VIRTUAL / MY FIRST VIRTUAL BOOK http://www.zooburst.com
ZooBurst is a digital storytelling tool that lets anyone easily create his or her own 3D pop-up books.
Once constructed, books can be inspected from any angle from within a 3D space, and rotating around a book is as easy as dragging and dropping a mouse. Each character can have its own 'chat bubble' that pops up when that character is clicked. In addition, authors can also record their own voices using the ZooBurst audio recorder to have their characters really 'speak' when clicked!

TASK DESCRIPTION: You can read more about this projec on the Page : Project at the top-rigth
  1. Go to http://zooburst.com/ , register and sign up for your account. You can read more about this website when you get your username and password
  2. Title: El espantapajaros y ...(you will add another word)
  3. Sobre:-6th grade: Actitivities you like to do (using verb GUSTAR and vocabulary seen up to now) / 7th 8th grades: Vocabulary from the film "El espantapajaros" /irregular verbs seen in class.
  4. Due date: December 2nd
  5. Pages: 5-8
  6. Pictures: Add pictures from website or own personal pictures. Have pictures at front and at the background. Change color of book and background.  IMPORTANTE: If your computer is not working or you cannot do it on the computer, you are still expected to turn in it made in  paper. No problem at all. (Same instructions as if it was done by using computer).
  7. Final touches to book. Post URL onto class website:  www.spanishbymissgarzon.blogspot.com  
  8. Leave your comments and reflections J about the project on my blog
  9. Prepare a 3 min. oral presentation explaining your interactive book. J
  10. This assignment will count as a PROJECT grade.

2. LA FIESTA:
Each period will have its own "Fiesta."  Parents have been contacted about this activity. Students are very happy to have this "fiesta" to celebrate not only the Hispanic Heritage Month, or the Chapter about La Fiesta but also to be thankful for many things.

3. PELICULA: SPANGLISH 

A woman and her daughter emigrate from Mexico for a better life in America, where they start working for a family where the patriarch is a newly celebrated chef with an insecure wife.

SEMANA 14: DEL 7 AL 11 DE NOVIEMBRE (WEEK 14: FROM NOVEMBER 7-11)


QUE TAL!
October is already over and looking back at the month, it was busy but fun. November seems a pretty much the same: a new and fun project, "tareas", unit test, Thanksgiving break, a lot of "conversaciones" in Spanish and a "fiesta". Yes, you hear it right. WE WILL HAVE A FIESTA. Students will take a letter home to inform parents about this activity.

Let's talk about our new fun project first: A virtual "libro" by the students based on the short film called: "La leyenda del espantapajaros" . The students will be able to be creative by making their own story. They will use some vocabulary studied this week. I know you will love this project. I have two coaches, one student from 7th grade and another from 8th grade, working on this so they will help us.
