Agenda Semana # 8 (Week # 8):La constancia (Constancy)

Constancy means  being always the same. Why to be constant is an important characteristic of being a good student?

Agenda:
September 27 to October 1
We will continue studying the topic of adjectives for periods 1,2,4,and 5.
For Period 6 we will start numbers and dates.

Tarea (HW) Periods 1,2,4,5 Meeting Hispanic People during this month.
Go online and do research on this:
1. Meet two Hispanic People in History
2. Meet two Famous Hispanic Musicians
3. Meet two Hispanic Players (Sports)
4. Meet two Hispanic Actors
5. Meet two Hispanic Writers
Importante: This assignment needs to be turned in on Thursday September 30 (No make up). You need to go online and do research. You need to write at least two lines for each one, describing their work or who they are.

Quiz Verdad o Falso: Here students will read some statements and they will decide if it is true or falso. Students periods 4 and 5 will use dictionaries. This is on Friday October 1.Please bring your dictionary to the quiz. No sharing at all.

1. Homework (Tarea) : Wed Sept 22 What are the contributions of Hispanic Community has made to America? Name at least 3.

2.Test #1 Thurs. Sept 23: Includes: Verb gustar (conjugation), expressions to use in class, vocabulary about food and restaurant' cognates  and verbs like: comer, beber, compartir etc (Periods 1,2,4 and 5)

3. Role plays: conversation in the restaurant for periods 4 and 5. Learn your lines by heart.

4. Test # 1 Fri. Sept 24 Period 6: includes: vocabulary about school, hello and good bye, alphabet, how to ask for name and how to respond and expressions to use in class.

Period 6: Tarea: Pictures about vocabulary "La casa" Please draw nice pic and color them Mon. Sept 20
                Test #1 Thursday Sept 23 (vocabulary : La escuela, hello and good byes etc.)

Hispanic Heritage Month; Why Americans celebrate it?

The students had as homework last night to go on line and find what the media has said about this celebration:
Why Americans celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month?
The most common answer I found checking this homework (tarea) was the following:
Americans recognize the contributions of Hispanic American to the United States!!!

So my next assignment (tarea) will be: What are those contributions? (homework to turn in by Wednesday, September 22, 2010 )
