WHY DO AMERICANS CELEBRATE IT?

While many believe that the holiday of Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico's Independence Day, this is an incorrect assumption. To learn of the actual significance of Cinco de Mayo, don't miss your class on Friday May 4th. You will learn what is the real meaning of this celebration. SPANISH CLUB

We will meet on Friday, May 4th at 7:30 AM. It will be our last meeting and we will be celebrating our sucess as a EXCELENTE CLUB.

Students!!!! you need to work hard these last weeks if you want to pull your grade up! Here is a short description of the activities for this coming week:



FINAL EXAM: MAY 11 FOR 7^TH  & 8^TH GRADES

FINAL EXAM: MAY 8TH FOR 6TH GRADE 

7th 8th GRADES

PORTAFOLIO #5 will be collected and graded. You need to follow the order that was written on the board last Friday. Due date to turn in your Portafolio: Friday, May 4.

POSTAL / POSTCARD: Students have been talking about their favourite place they have visited in the past; now they will have the opportunity to write a postcard to a friend (in this case to Sra. Garzon) telling what they and members of their family did on that trip.

VOCABULARIO: Students will talk about technology using new vocabulary.


TAREA/ HW: This is your chance to make - up one of your lowest grade on daily activities : Listen carefully to your teacher's instructions on Monday April 29. This homework is due on Monday, May  7. This will be the last assigment as Tarea of the school year. You are going to have an entire week to do it.


6th GRADE

PORTAFOLIO #5 will be collected and graded. You need to follow the order that was written on the board last Friday. Due date to turn in your Portafolio: Friday, May 4.

VOCABULARIO: Students are working on vocabulary about food. We will be finishing our vocabulary during this week.

VERBS: TENER & IR are the verbs to be studied during this unit.

APRIL 23 CRCT SOCIAL STUDIES

I hope you continue doing your best on Monday and be over with the state exams. We will come back to our regular schedule on Tuesday April 24. So this is what we will be doing during this current week. I am sure we will reach our goals before the school year is over. 

***We were scheduled to send  DEFICIENCIES  home last April 13. I didn't send these deficiencies because of the coming CRCT; I wanted you to focus on these state exams so I will be sending them this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. Parents please be aware this is the last time we are sending deficiency before the school year ends*** 

7th & 8th

We will be working on: La hora, new unit - vocabulary and past tense. I will be grading the classwork on Wednesday April  25. We will be organizing our "Portafolio #5" . This portafolio #5 will be checked and graded during the week #38.

HW /TAREA: Get your portafolio #5 ready to be grade.

6th

We will be working on : New unit- vocabulary, pictionario and verbs "TENER and IR". I will be grading the classwork on Wednesday, April 25. We will be also organizing our "Portafolio #5" This portafolio #5 will be checked and graded during the week #38.

HW /TAREA: Get your portafolio #5 ready to be graded.

SEMANA 36: DEL 16 AL 20 DE ABRIL (WEEK 36: FROM APRIL 16 TO 20)

 ON THE CRCT APRIL 16-23

 DURING THIS WEEK WHEN STUDENTS WILL TAKE THE CRCT 7TH & 8TH STUDENTS WILL BE WORKING ON SOME ACTIVITIES LIKE: PRACTICING WRITING -DICTADO-, REVIEWING TIME - LA HORA- AND SOME SPANISH GAMES.
FOR 6TH GRADERS, WE WILL BE WORKING ON SOME WRITING, PICTIONARIO AND WE WILL START WORKING ON THE VERBS TENER AND IR (HAVE AND GO).  


***NO HAY TAREA/ NO HOMEWORK FOR THIS WEEK, NEITHER A QUIZ OR ANY KIND OF ASSIGNMENT TO TURN IN IT AT LEAST IF NECESSARY.

SEMANA 35: DEL 9 AL 13 DE ABRIL (WEEK 35: FROM APRIL 9 TO 13)

We are back after our deserved spring break and now we are ready to finish our current school year!

VAMOS A TERMINAR ESTE AñO ESCOLAR MUY BIEN 

For this coming week:                     7th & 8th grades:

We will continue working on Past tense: regular and irregular verbs; we will be also answering the worksheet about: Maricela based on the movie we saw before our spring break. 
UNIT TEST: Because of the CRCT next week we will have our test on Friday April 13 instead of having it on Wed. I will make sure we have a general review on Thursday, April 12.
TAREA: Study for unit test.
***  A new unit will be started next week: En el cibercafe ***

                                                      6th grade

We will be going over the work about the movie: Maricela.
UNIT TEST: Because of the CRCT next week we will have our test on Friday April 13 instead of having it on Wed. We will be having Unit test on Friday, April 13. The following topics will be evaluated: Verb SER/ ESTAR, vocabulary and prepositions of place.
TAREA: Study for the test.
