Course
Description: This course is designed to continue developing
Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills to communicate in Spanish. This course also focuses on the development
of communicative competence in the target language and understanding of the
culture(s) of the people who speak the Spanish language. The integration of technology is an important
tool we will use in accessing authentic information in the target language and
in providing students the opportunity to interact with native speakers.
Course Goals:
- Students will
develop and maintain proficiency in the target language (listening, speaking,
writing and reading) through an articulated and sequential program.
- Students will
enhance their worldview of the cultures and civilization of the
international communities where Spanish is spoken.
Use of
Spanish in class: I will conduct the
class in Spanish. It is your responsibility to let me know when you do not
understand. You are not expected to understand every word that I say. At no
time expect that I will translate for you. Your comprehension will improve with
time, particularly if you prepare the materials before class and do both
homework and listening comprehension exercises on a timely manner and as
instructed.

as essential tools for the success of the student in class. It is also the
student responsibility to visit the blog frequently for information about the
class and to have the “portafolio” updated and complete. If the student lose

SOME COMMENTS FROM
LAST YEAR ABOUT:
PORTAFOLIO: It was a great idea
and helped me a lot because all you needed to do to get a good grade on in was
to do all the assignments and staple all the work and turn it in on time.
Portafolio also teaches you skills later in life involving paper work and
organization. Ah! The best thing you will use it for your final exam and some
tests. – KM 8th grade 2017- 2018
BLOG: I found the blog very
helpful. Whenever I think I forgot something to Spanish class, I would refer
back the blog. I also enjoyed looking at all the dog photos on the blog. Sra.
Garzon is a big fan of them. There is no
excuse for not doing our assignments. You can find all the information in the
blog. It is updated every week. –PN 8th grade 2017 -2018
