Una mirada a la semana / A look to the week:
7th grade class (No-Heritage class): 1st period
We  will have our "Batalla de Deletreo" between group A and B. We will start our zone of grammar: Future tense and the verb "jugar". We will be watching a video about "El espantapajaros" y we will celebrate "El Dia de los muertos" 

No quiz this week however we will be doing activities in class and I will be grading them 

Tarea/Hw: Ask your parents or any member of your family if they have heard about el  Dia de los muertos and what they know about it? Write his/her opinion or videotaped it.

7th grade Heritage class: 2nd period

* Pictionario: it will be graded on Monday

We will definitely finish our reading about Celebrations: Historias para HispanohablantesWe will start our zone of grammar: Furture tense and the verb jugar. We will be watching a video about "El espantapajaros" y we will celebrate "El Dia de los muertos" 

No quiz this week however we will be doing activities in class and I will be grading them

8th grade Heritage class: 3rd period

We  will have activities about vocabulary. We will start our zone of grammar: Past tense Irregular verbs and we will celebrate "El Dia de los muertos" . We will also work on Writing: La Leyenda de Espantapajaros 

Quiz #6: Vocabulary Unit 2. We will be doing activities in class and I will be grading them

We  will be working on vocabulary unit 2 and finish our work on Video-clip 2. We will start our grammar zone: Infinitives -ar -er -ir. We will see a video about El espantapajaros and study compound words. We will also work on el Dia de los muertos.

No quiz this week however we will be doing activities in class and I will be grading them

SEMANA 12: DEL 22 AL 26 DE OCTUBRE (WEEK:12 FROM OCTOBER 22 TO 26 2012)

Support Cancer Awareness: Wear pink on Friday November 2 to support Cancer Awareness Month
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WE ARE PREPARING OUR HISPANIC HERITAGE ASSEMBLY 

Students are so excited about their presentation in the Assembly on Friday October 26. The program is full of different acts: songs, dances, poems, guests and more... I hope you will enjoy it. I would like to thank my 2nd and 6th periods for buying the posters for decoration.

Almost 100% of "Portafolios Interactivos" were revised and graded. I just need to grade one more and we will get everybody's done. I am so proud of the way students care about this portafolio.

IB Visitors: We will have the opportunity to meet IB evaluators this week. I am sure we will learn a lot from them.

We  will continue working on Vocabulary 2 . I will be grading Pictionario 2 and 3. We did these pictionarios last week.  Students will have a " BATALLA DE DELETREO" 

We will be doing some activities to incorporate IB activities.

We  started unit 2 however we are a little behind,We have been working on the decoration for the Assembly. We need to work  on the Pictionario 2 and 3. We will have activities like: Spelling, dictado and written exercises using our textbook. We will be finishing our "lectura: Celebraciones".

We  had a guest last Friday. The IB coordinator Ms. Edelstein came to answer questions about the IB program. We will continue working on activities unit 2. Students will be also working on the Pictionario 1 and 2. Quiz: Wednesday 24. Tarea: Workbook

We had the pre-test unit 2 last week. We could compare and think about the results. We will be working on vocabulary 2 and pictionarios. We will have IB activities as well. We also need to practice for our presentations on Friday, October 26. Quiz #6 on Wednesday 24

6th grade Heritage class: 6th period
We  will be working on vocabulary unit 2. Pictionarios will be graded. We will have IB activities.

It’s hard to believe we are already moving into the middle of October. Wow! It’s the best time to enjoy the autumn colors. Parents: Report cards are going out on October 17. Please make sure you see the report card, sign it, and have it returned to the homeroom.
